It's in what's called blinking-red-light-of-death mode which essentially means it is in current overload protection mode. I took extremely good care of this receiver. It was configured properly using the correct speakers/cabling for ohm rating, was never turned up above 40, it was never left on for long periods of time and there is zero dust accumulation within the unit. It sounded great while I had it and I'm extremely disappointed that after 5 months it spontaneously died.

The TX-8211 was easy to set up, since all I had to do was swap over the speaker, phonograph, CD player, and tape deck connections already in place. The sound quality is a major improvement over my old receiver (which had probably suffered some gradual deterioration over the years) - no distortion, and significantly more vlume output. My only disappointment is that the FM sensitivity is the same as the old equipment (and the other Onkyo receiver, for that matter). I had hoped I might get better reception of some of the weaker stations in my area (Boston 'burbs), but I presume a better antenna is needed to address that issue. Bottom line: nice unit, great price, and very quick delivery from the vendor (J & R Music/Computer World). It can even make itself skip when the music volume is turned up. Also has a hard time with moderately damaged CDs.
