Onkyo TARW255 Dual well Tape Deck Specifications

Dual autoreverse lets you copy both sides of a tape with the press of a button, or relay-play both sides of two tapes without interruption. The deck also includes Dolby B and C noise reduction to effectively eliminate tape hiss, auto-spacing to insert blank spaces between songs, high-speed dubbing, rec-level control, CD synchro recording, 8-segment peak level meters, an auto tape-bias selector, and a 4-digit electronic tape counter.

Key Technology Feature:
RI (Remote Interactive): With Onkyo’s exclusive RI (Remote Interactive) system capability, you can integrate and operate all compatible components through a single remote control. What’s more, RI capability enables you to simply connect the iPod® to your receiver through Onkyo’s RI Dock for the iPod (DS-A1). Your iPod effectively becomes another Onkyo component from which you can relish a fuller sound that just can’t be experienced through headphones. RI capability will also give you remote operability of your iPod for hands-off control over your digital music.

Customer Review

Best Customer Review : I had a Teac recorder once that never made a sound when I pushed the record button. I have to say this one (Onkyo TARW255)is nothing like that one! This thing sounds like something is going to break inside. It clicks, jumps, and bumps like it's slipping or something. Other than that it records very nicely. It takes a while to get used to the eject button being on top of the cassette window. I'm used to all the buttons being on the bottom. It's hard to read the buttons too because they are not backlit or painted brightly. The unit also has a "standby" red light when you turn the unit off. It uses about 7W when it's in this mode. So if you don't want to use extra electricity or be bothered by a red light then you'll have to unplug it. No headphone or earphone jack. No remote but has a connector to connect a Onkyo stereo amp for use with that remote. It's made in Malaysia not Japan. Don't know how long it will last. Get an extended warranty when you buy it. Vann's has it online for less and a warranty for like for 3 years.

Customer Review 1 : Good tape deck - David Erickson -
My Onkyo TARW255 cassette decks (I bought two of them) sound great and record great. I have only had them a few months but so far they have worked great. I bought two of them because I don't want to run out of cassette decks if they quit making them like they quit making 8-track players in the early 1980's. I have a large collection of cassette tapes which I intend to keep listening to for many years. I also have CDs, but in my opinion cassette tapes sound almost as good as CD audio (and better than MP3 audio) so I am in no hurry to replace all of my cassette tapes with CDs.
